In a present marked by the climate crisis, violence, and dispossession, this interview invites readers to imagine alternative futures from antiracist and anticolonial perspectives. We speak with Josefa Sánchez Contreras, an intellectual from the Angpøn (Zoque) people, about her book Despojos racistas. Hacia un ecologismo anticolonial (Racist dispossessions. Toward an anticolonial ecologism). Through a critique of racial capitalism and »green« energy transitions, the author challenges dominant models and foregrounds Indigenous struggles for the defense of life. A necessary reflection for understanding how racial capitalism and colonial legacies shape both political ecologies and the academic field.
